He is a native of the Claiborne County area and began his education at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN and received his B.S. in the summer of 1965. He then finished his Master of Science in the Fall of 1967. He went to Medical School and finished at the University of Tennessee Memphis in the summer of 1971. His internship was completed at the University of TN in Knoxville in June 1972. Dr. Rose then finished his surgical residency at the University of TN Knoxville in the summer of 1976. He carries two state licenses, one in the state of TN and the other in KY. He became a board certified surgeon in the spring of 1978. Dr. Rose is currently practicing medicine in Tazewell TN at the Claiborne County Hospital and also in Middlesboro KY at Appalachian Regional Hospital. He has practiced medicine and surgery at these two locations for over 30 years. Along with his surgical practices, he also oversees and directs other medical clinics in the East Tennessee area. Dr. Rose’s society memberships include the American College of Surgeons, TN Chapter of The American College of Surgeons, The Society of Laparoendoscope Surgeons and The South Eastern Surgical Society.
